It's been six months since wildfires burned approximately 2,400 buildings, killed fourteen people and forced the evacuation of thousands of people from the Tennessee tourist hub, Gatlinburg.

Today, officials are trying to lure the tourists back, no small concern because tourism is the county's number-one industry and employer. Residents who lost their homes are struggling to get back on their feet in a tight housing market. And others examine what can be done the next time a fire threatens the area.

Associate professor of History Lynn Sacco discusses how she is using Dolly Parton and pop culture as tools to help students investigate recent history.

Knoxville Opera is presenting the Tennessee premiere of Donizetti's opera about Mary, Queen of Scots: Maria Stuarda. Performances are Friday, April 28th at 7:30 and Sunday, April 30th at 2:30 and, as always, will be presented at the Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxville. Soprano, Rochelle Bard, who sings the role of Queen Mary, talks to Morning Concert host, Melony Dodson, about the opera, her complex character, the challenges of the role, and also about how she fell into the world of opera.

Farragut High student Daniel Choo was recently selected to perform with the National Youth Orchestra. He sits down with Todd Steed to discuss his upcoming performances with both the NYO and the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra.
