Governor Bill Haslam has started trying to sell lawmakers on the last budget of his tenure. And while that may have been overshadowed by Nashville drama developing a few blocks from the capitol, the numbers the budget contains can say something about this session’s legislative priorities.

There’s more money for economic incentives, even though that concept is receiving renewed scrutiny. A proposal to reform juvenile justice. And the revenue boost from last year’s gas tax increase.

WPLN's Jason Moon Wilkins sat down with statehouse reporter Chas Sisk to look through the ledger for the stories behind the numbers.
