A summer cyber attack on Department of Energy computer systems in Washington has affected DOE employees in Oak Ridge.

The number of those affected isn’t yet available, but the Knoxville News Sentinel reports that the personal information of apparently hundreds of employees at DOE facilities in Oak Ridge was compromised by a cyber attack in July and August.

This week, the US Justice Department announced that Lauri Love was arrested by UK authorities at his home in Stradishall, England. Love is charged with infiltrating computers at the DOE, the US Army, the US Missile Defense Agency, the US Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, the National Institutes of Health and other agencies.
