The Tennessee Human Rights Commission will begin holding statewide hearings this month. The Commission is calling for testimony about incidents of discrimination. Written and spoken testimony will be taken at public hearings, which begin January 28th at Rhodes College in Memphis. Those testimonies will be included in the Commission’s upcoming report on The Status of Human Rights in Tennessee.
The Commission enforces the state and federal laws that prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, age, disability, gender, national origin, race, and religion.
