A new report from the National Council on Teacher Quality measures the quality and effectiveness of teacher training programs in the US.

Tennessee, Ohio, and Texas have the most top-ranked teacher training programs in the country.

Nashville’s Lipscomb University College of Education and the online Western Governors University lead the state’s programs; both are also among the top 10 ranked elementary programs in the US and among the top 20 for secondary programs.

Overall, the report showed poor results nationwide, with most programs earning less than 50 points on a 125-point scale and only about 5% of elementary math training programs equivalent to those of other nations.
