This spring, Beverly Davenport became the eighth chancellor of the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Davenport, the university's first female chancellor, comes to the school at a time of political polarization and diverging views about freedom of speech, academic freedom, sexual assault, infrastructure and other campus concerns. In her first interview for WUOT, Davenport spoke to Victor Agreda about the road ahead and her plans for the university.
