To say the least, it's been an interesting campaign season, resulting in an election night for the ages. As of midnight, Republican incumbent Eddie Smith led Democratic challenger Gloria Johnson by a mere 154 votes in the race for the 13th Tennessee House seat. That race may not be resolved until all provisional ballots have been counted.
Here are the winners from some of Tuesday's Tennessee races:

Early Voting- Early voting for this election broke records in Knox County and throughout Tennessee.
Tennessee General Assembly- Although very few races in the Tennessee General Assembly are considered competitive this year, there are a few districts to watch closely as results begin to come in Tuesday night. WUOT's Brandon Hollingsworth talks with Nashville Public Radio Legislative Correspondent Chas Sisk about the races he'll be following.
Anderson County Charter- Voters in Anderson County will choose eight people who will write the county’s first charter document. Anderson will be only the third county in the state to adopt a charter form of government, after Knox and Shelby. Here, WUOT's Brandon Hollingsworth speaks with Joe Jarret, who advised Knox County's charter review panel in 2012. Follow live results here.
The Reasons Why- Tennessee's Congressional delegation is considered a lock for re-election. Few legislative seats are at risk. And while Donald Trump may face difficulties in other states, he’s virtually guaranteed Tennessee’s eleven electoral votes. What explains all this? Maryville College Political Science professor Mark O’Gorman has some answers.
