Knoxville Opera presents a stunningly unique performance of Puccini's "Tosca"

The Knoxville Opera is producing an incredibly unique production of Puccini's opera "Tosca."  This Saturday, April 30th, each act is performed at a different venue (all within walking distance of each other), to reflect when and where the story would have actually taken place in real-life. The first act is performed at Church Street United Methodist Church, while Act II is presented at the Knoxville Convention Center and the final act, at the World's Fair Park amphitheater.

Morning Concert host, Melony Dodson, has a fun and candid conversation with tenor, Jonathan Burton, and baritone, Scott Bearden about this opera, their characters, this unique production, and about the ever-important teacher-student relationship.

Melony calls the beautiful mountains of Boone, N.C., home, although she was born near Greensboro, N.C. There’s just something about those Blue Ridge Mountains that got in her blood and never left after she moved there to attend Appalachian State University (ASU). While at ASU, she majored in piano performance and music therapy and began to cultivate a love for accompanying and for collaborating with other musicians. This soon led her to earn a master’s degree in collaborative piano at the University of Tennessee, which she attended from 2006-2008.
