Knoxville City Council Elections 2017: District Three

City of Knoxville

This week, WUOT News is looking at the race for five Knoxville city council seats. Thirty candidates are running for ten slots in next Tuesday's primary. We're talking with residents and reporters - people who know the districts and the issues. In this discussion, Victor Agreda interviews Brandon Hollingsworth about District Three, which includes much of northwest Knoxville, north of Middlebrook Pike and south of Clinton Highway.

CLARIFICATION AND CORRECTION: In this interview, it is asserted that none of the four candidates openly opposes the proposed safety center off Western Avenue. Candidate De'Ossie Dingus, Sr., says he opposes the center's proposed location, and he shares the security concerns expressed by some of the residents in that area.

This interview also says candidate Seema Singh Perez works with domestic violence victims. This is not correct. Perez works with those accused of domestic violence. We regret the error.
