Knox County Criminal Court Clerk Joy McCroskey says she will be at a planned meeting in which county political and law enforcement officials will try to get answers on a series of alleged mistakes in McCroskey's office. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 28.

A series of reports from the Knoxville News Sentinel and WBIR television show errors that originated in McCroskey's office have led to wrongful arrests, improper suspension of drivers' licenses, illegal detentions and other problems in at least 20 separate instances dating from July 2012 to September 2013.

McCroskey acknowledged some errors may have occurred, but that they were isolated in nature and not systemic, as media reports have indicated. However, e-mails obtained by the News Sentinelsaid Knox County judges have attributed mistakes to the Criminal Court Clerk's office for months, and have held meetings to try to address the situation. McCroskey and her staff were participants in some of those meetings.
