Twenty-one energy efficiency projects across the state are getting funding this year.
Three years ago, the TVA reached a settlement over alleged Clean Air Act violations at coal-burning power plants in the Southeast. As part of that settlement, Tennessee is getting $26.4 million over five years to help fund clean-air projects.
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Tennessee Commissioner of Environment and Conservation Bob Martineau announced the grants yesterday. Each grant was limited to $250,000 each.
