http://www.oxfam.org/en/grow/reports/growing-better-future/2-age-crisis-skewed-and-failing-system/23-equity-challenge

A new federal fiscal year has begun, with a few snags…

Because of a  partial government shutdown, a few states are going ahead with reductions to food stamps, though the matter of a $40 billion cut to the program is still up for debate in Congress...

Signups for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act are underway, with effects yet to be determined…

WUOT's Chrissy Keuper spoke with James Bosi of the Knoxville-Knox County Food Policy Council, Martha Buchanan of the Knox County Health Department, and Paul Erwin of the University of Tennessee's Department of Public Health about policy related to food equity and health equity...

Chrissy served as WUOT's News Director and host of monthly public affairs talk show Dialogue from late 2021 to early 2023. Her first job with the station was as weekend student announcer while earning her bachelor's in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. She had previously been the station's local host for NPR's Morning Edition and All Things Considered news programs; occasionally filled in as host for WUOT's Morning and Afternoon Concerts; and won multiple awards for her interviews, feature stories, and Dialogue.
