Denise Carpenter

Broadcast Traffic Coordinator/Underwriting Assistant

Denise is WUOT's broadcast traffic coordinator/underwriting assistant. She began her career at WUOT in 1972 as music librarian, after having attended the University of Tennessee and working at the station as a student assistant. Currently, Denise helps maintain WUOT's website; publishes the station's monthly e-newsletter E-Notes, and assists in the station's traffic/operations and underwriting departments.

Denise relaxes with paper crafting, knitting and crocheting, reading and birding. She is the servant to Teddie, an overweight loudmouth elderly kitty; a blind, hearing-impaired and darling Shih Tzu, Sophie; and the extremely shy but sweet Max, a rescue pooch from Myrtle Beach.

Ways to Connect

Today is the last day of WUOT's fall fund drive. If you haven't yet made a pledge of support, now's the time to do it, especially if you're an Ira Glass and This American Life fan! If you donate today by 8 p.m., you'll be entered into a drawing to win FRONT ROW SEATS to see Ira Glass at the Tennessee Theatre May 30, 2015!

Today is Community Partnership Day! If you donate  between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., your pledge will count toward our goal of 400 pledges. And if we reach 400 pledges, you’ll help the Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding (STAR) get a much-needed facelift.

If we receive 400 pledges by 8 p.m. today, two different couples, Mark and Heather Murphy of Boulder Designs, and Tom and Janice Christman, will donate $5,000 worth of signage and landscaping to give STAR’s entrance a new look.
