Claire's Law

Hearing loss is the number one birth defect in the nation. A new Tennessee law now requires all hospitals to test hearing in newborns. The state legislature passed the bill in April and it went into effect July first. It's dubbed "Claire's law" after a Nashville girl whose deafness was undetected for weeks after she was born.
