For five years, debate over a school building program has raged in Jefferson County. School Board members and County Commissioners can't agree on even the most basic needs. Meanwhile the existing schools are aging and overcrowded. In February, a $65-million building plan worked out by the School Board was rejected by County Commission---just as it did in January.
