Setting the record straight

Yesterday, a former maintenance man at the East Tennessee Technology Park in Oak Ridge was indicted for stealing "barrier rods" used in processing enriched uranium. Roy Lynn Oakley is also charged with attempting to sell the material to the French government. For several hours, the story heard across the nation contained inaccurate information... about Oakley, where he worked and what he allegedly stole. Department of Energy Public Information Officer John Shewairy tells WUOT's Ann Lloyd all the government facilities in Oak Ridge were busy trying to set the record straight...Listen Now

Joe Montana's fight against hypertension

High blood pressure affects more than 72 million Americans. Among them is former NFL quarterback Joe Montana. Montana and Doctor James Rippe, an Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, are traveling the country to promote a blood-pressure awareness campaign called the BP Success Zone. Playing the Wall

A cross cultural photography show by children opens in Knoxville today. "Growing Tennessee" presents work by poor migrant and rural East Tennessee kids. The project is a collaboration of Jane Crowe of the Head Start program and sound artist Glenn Weyant. Weyant provides soundscapes of him "playing" the border wall between Mexico and the United States...Listen Now
