The Peace Corps was founded by President John Kennedy in 1961. It sends American volunteers to third-world countries to help locals improve their education, agriculture and infrastructure. Back in the day, the Peace Corps was a popular option for college-age Baby Boomers. Now it's actively seeking volunteers from that same generation.
