Santa's Knife and Gun Shop

For parents of young children, the search for Santa Claus can be as much a part of the Christmas season as sugar cookies and credit cards. The mall has always been a popular place to find him. Oak Ridge High Students Win National Competition

Three Oak Ridge High School seniors recently won the top team prize at the national Seimens Math and Science Competition. Scott Maloney, Steve Arcangeli and Scott Horton collaborated on a project that involved using an ORNL supercomputer. Scott Maloney tells WUOT's Ann Lloyd that they were looking for a more effective method to produce ethanol from plants. Ethanol is a fuel used in vehicles...Listen Now

All Taxa Biodiversity

All this week scientists, teachers and volunteers from around the country have been discussing the vast diversity of life in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This is the tenth annual All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory Conference in Gatlinburg. The purpose is to share each year's latest findings of new species found within the park.
