Fontana Lake

When the TVA created its lakes and reservoirs in the 1940's, thousands of families were displaced. They were also cut off from their most sacred lands. Around Fontana Lake in North Carolina, 26 small cemeteries are inaccessible, except by boat. During the summer, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park provides free access to families wanting to visit the graves. WUOT's Ann Lloyd went along on one of the trips...Listen Now
