Event Description

Faculty recital; Revival of the Coolidge Competition. This program will feature Bloch's 1919 Suite, Clarke's Sonata, and 6 other pieces identified by viola scholar, David Bynog, as some of the 72 anonymous works submitted to the 1919 composition competition. Herndon will perform movements from each piece during the first half of the performance, with the audience voting on a “winner” during intermission. Herndon will perform the winning composition in full during the second half of the recital.
